When I reflect on this book, I think about the process behind creating my upcoming single 'PRESSURE'. And how this book helped me along the way. Understanding that our mind plays such a powerful role in the creative process. Often times the greatest enemy to creating art is ourselves.
One of my strangest experiences is dealing with pressure when creating music. It's a very personal and emotional experience for me. Pressure stays with us even when it's over. Makes you feel numb at times. Uncertain in others. Things can sometimes feel outer-worldly and overwhelming. But one of the greatest joys in life comes from facing your challenges and succeeding.
When you've created something from a few ideas in your mind. To see it take shape and mold into something spontaneous. That's the muse. The point where you let go and you realize that you're not the one in control. You never were. You find there's no limit to what you can create. As long as you're willing to go through the process of experiencing. It's almost like a 'bullshit detector' to see if you're serious at times.
When we look at some of the greatest pieces of art, music, and theatre. Often times they were born from the same experiences. It's just something that you have to deal with, to create something meaningful. It's the price you pay before you can call yourself a true artist.
